Yeah I just noticed that too. I also noticed a couple of robot parts not quite on the ground also. I'll fix that.

This is terrific stuff... the robot kinda reminds me of a trade federation droid (SW:EP2). The modeling here is terrific, lighting (radiosity) is excellent, and your DOF is perfect.

funny picture, with a very high quality of render. I'm stunned ! for the depth of field, transition between blured/not blured is maybe too small

Brilliant lighting and shadows. Very nice concept!

Modeling: Excellent! Lighting: Beautiful! Concept; Cool! Depth of field: Sucks! I gotta be honest, not gentle. I'm tempted to think the blur was done in Photoshop. This much DOF blur makes things look only a few inches tall.

Maybe it is only a few inches tall. The DOF is excellent. Who cares if you did it in Photoshop anyway. :-)

I'm inclined to believe bebe's commment. The modelling and lighting is excellent and the concept is very original. Yet the DOF method you used makes the robot look like a little plastic figurine. It doesn't even look as though the objects near and far are actually near and far, but rather just blurred over, as previously suggested, by using Photoshop.
