Description
As I mentioned on the image earlier, V3 doesn't cut nearly such a bad figure even these days... considering. Many things are simply relative...
In more recent times, I got a bargain on Poser 10 and have fallen head over heels in love with it.
When I began messing with these things, I dabbled with Poser 6 and the generation 3 figures. Things have changed a great deal since then and for some reason I cannot fully explain, I just never fell in love with the Genesis era figures. It strikes me as strange in a way because they really are quite brilliant and do not lack content either but... Appreciated many a thing but we never clicked...
Makes me wonder if there are other like me

Fantastic. She has the look of an eighties fantasy movie heroine, biiiig hair.

Fantastic... just because there's a newer version of something doesn't mean the older one has nothing left to offer!

Thank you everybody!
The biiig hair is Elfdance hair. I have no idea if it's still available but it it certainly has a lot of volume

Maybe it is the character that you are in love with and nothing in genesis comes close to that character for you. Yes, with an updated skin shader even V3 / V4 look great. But when it comes to bends and and more complex poses, the genesis figures tend to look more natural. Lovely render.

The generation 3 figures are ok, as long as they're covered in clothes. Then the mesh and the sharp bends are not as apparent. Weight mapped figures like genesis and Dawn bend far better and smoother.
Poser tends to be far less forgiving to the older figures than Daz and you notice any shortcomings at rendertime. That said, in DS the older figures prove remarkably lightweight, so you can populate a larger scene with them in the background.
