it has the feeling of a lover one had, but is either away from or is no longer involved with the person having the memory...the man stares as if out of memory or a dream; he looks kind but somewhat disturbed (by the separation?), and yet quiet and accepting...all the strange emotions that accompany separation and fading experience. You've surrounded him with icons of Paris (the Eiffel, the cathedral of Notre Dame, street scenes, a beautiful street lamp---evocative of private moments between lovers---and so on). And the man is dressed casually, giving the feeling that he's come from his daily life without preparation or pause, to enter the memory of the other---or maybe she/he is just a dear friend---and haunt them for a moment...An evocative, sensitive piece, with muted tones completely fitting for fading memory...
