My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!

I didn't know the Nelson Atkins Museum had gone souvenir shopping in Cairo. You can't imagine how many times I came across a blanket or table with figurines like this lined up just like this for sale. "Veddy, veddy old! From the pyramids!" Of course they didn't have the crackerjack background to enhance the display. I absolutely lurve that background. Outstanding work.

What a triumph ! I still have a problem with that word, like Mark I immediately thought of bells tolling the knell, and then like you I looked it up and thought 'Who on earth thought this was an appropriate name for organising?"
I love the final effect you made.

as I mentioned privately, the "knoll" here comes from a Florence Knoll, who designed furniture; and has nothing to do with the 'word' knoll, which may be a reason why the word's so hard to find---at least for some of us, lol (Andrea's with me, above). There's something almost "Warhol" about this, with the repeated figures, and the variations in each one. In fact, the top row looks like you covered over their faces, or photographed them backwards. But then there's the background...A large Egyptian prince or princess, in profile, so it's in counterpoint with the figurines. And your hues---the pinker part is textured by your postwork; and the postwork responds to the lines of the figurines, which is special. Then you have that tree---is that the tree from one of your "rejects" (which you showed me and then posted)? It's an act of intuition, and it works perfectly. And your postwork adds shadow around the figures, so they stand out. Love the feel of it, it's a lot of fun to move through all the variations, like Warhol's coke bottles. And it's real knolling too. Really creative work, Tara.

Wonderful Work,

Interesting arrangement. It reminds me of the Chinese grave with all the soldiers lined up. Anahata thinks like me - winds up taking some of my thought out comments. Mind reader? At any rate, good job with this Knoll. I really enjoyed looking at and comparing the different figures! Keep up the good work! :-)

I too had never heard of that word so now it is going to bug me until I can use it somewhere 😀 I love how you have presented all these figures so beautifully with the background and then mellowed it with Topez. Excellent work. 😀

Excellent arrangement and atmosphere!

OK - that's a new one on me...... Apparently, I was engaged in a lengthy 'knolling' session a few months ago with several boxes of tile.... LOL
This is a most delightful image, knolled or not. I can't remember the last time I visited the Nelson...

A metaphoric picture of antic egypt.

WOW, how BEAUTIFUL, and mysterious is THAT!!! How amazing to discover that intriguing big Egyptian head behind the "knolling ones", as if the series of little ones arose from his head; created by his thinking, and he is their hero, their kind of chief. You did great here, dear Tara, and I've learned something interesting too, thanks to you. btw. I hope the flu has been "extinguished" ;-)

Great job Tara. I looked at Andrea's upload and it looked good too. Well, I learned something too. I had never heard of trolling before, or if i had, it didn't register!
