Description

Made with free photos, png tubes and brushes in GIMP and IrfanView background photo of fawn: rottonara, woman: silviap, butterfly: openclipart, flowers: susannp, ears; veprikgo, rope: freeicon the way I make my images: I find a free-to-use photo that inspires me and I add png tubes to create a scene. GIMP brushes are used to fill in details. I often don't have a story in mind. I just create little scenes that, hopefully, are nice to look at. thanks so much for looking and commenting on my images!

I pretty much figured that you do these by feel; and your instincts are so well-honed and sensitive that your feelings guide you as you go. Also, I don't know if I ever felt a 'story' in your pieces (as you say you have none in mind); but it's a great credit to you that people feel stories in them...because your mixed media pieces are so rich and suggestive, they take your viewers in many directions at once...they create a magic all their own...This is charming and delightful, Barb, the fairy/fae spirit has a delightful tilt of the head (like she's pondering something), and it's paralleled by the deer's tilt. And you've adorned her in charming amulet-like wear, with wonderful patterns. The flowers fit right in too, and the background---pure photographic bokeh---makes this a scene from "Midsummer Night's Dream," where we expect fantastic things to happen, animals and humans to speak, and magical transformations---all just beyond the frame of your piece...magical and touching at once.
