Description
Captured way back on 9/26/06, early in the am, somewhere around town. I've got a zillion shots taken of these formations from that memorable day. Similar cloud formations like this have become extremely rare over the years, plus less and less rain. Climate change?

It's possible. The last few times there was major global warming (the medieval warm period and the mid-Holocene climate optimum) the entire western portion of the U.S. got a lot drier. Nice capture!

Love these clouds - great shot! I remember my mom calling these formations "mares' tails" when I was a kid.

A big beautiful sky shot, I agree with Rod. The hues on the bottom are filled with deep yellows, while the top is all fleece and blue. And I like your frame too! A beautiful, dramatic shot of clouds. It's a shame these sights have lessened---they're quite beautiful, and I can see why you wanted to capture them that day...
