I'm skipping ahead only so I can comment on at least one recent image (I'm approaching a full hour, and I will have to move on)...This is extraordinary. It has a blasting, electric energy, and you caught the wild abandoned energies of hip hop and related dance forms, as well as of urban america---in all its grunge, earthiness, soot, grime and explosive power. Your heavy reds and blues are expressionistic. This looks so much like a physical painting, it's hard to believe you did anything to it, digitally! A terrific interpretation of the endless energy and rhythms of young dancers; and your poses---with some women bent backwards, and that front man splayed out like a rock guitarist, and another person bent backwards---these really express the energy of this image. And you have graffiti, and grungy walls, and a sky that looks painted-on by de Kooning (or one of the other Abstract Expressionists). Your use of traditional art techniques has been triumphal. This is an explosive, urban, pulsing image; and its dark reds and blues make electrifying contrasts. Brilliant work, Ute.
