Description

Holden, part of General Motors, was an Australian manufacturer of cars, but is now just an assembler. The Holden Monaros shown here were also sold around the world under different GM badges, such as the Pontiac G8 in the US (also models were sold as Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, etc), and Vauxhalls, Opels, Daewoos and so on in other countries. Very popular, and successful in motor sport, these high performance vehicles sometimes were enhanced by a company known as Holden Special Vehicles (hence the HSV licence plates.) The model used here was created in Lightwave and is a freebie from http://www.dmi-3d.net/ , which I converted to object format, then retextured in Studio, though not all of the Iray materials worked too well.

Well, Australia lost all the car manufacturers... but loosing Holden was probably the worst... specially when it was an Australian brand... Sometimes unions need to understand they can just keep demanding. If the company closes shop and moves on, all its members are the one who would suffer even more at the end...

Nicely done. But yup, the textures could be better.

Thanks, and agreed, Rajib. (And I'll keep experimenting with the textures, too)
