Two flowers have been used in this work as a metaphor for birth and enlightenment. The woman's flower is the female external genitals and it represents the birth and the primal life-force in humans, which is located mostly to the lower parts of our bodies and it is associated with our sexual and instinctive aspects of ourselves. For those who are not familiar with seated meditative poses,man's pose is called Lotus. In many spiritual traditions the lotus flower symbolizes the enlightenment and the growth of our awareness and consciousness. Usually,it is being referred to the higher parts of our bodies , especially on the top of our heads. It is also associated with fertility, abundance and eternity of the mind and the life of those who live by being aware of the enlightened state. While in many cultures the lotus flower has been described as an indication of purity and rebirth, from its diving process in the water and its clean condition, despite the murky water where it usually grows in. Both of them, the primal force and the dissolution of confusion which comes from an enlightened state, they evolve and grow constantly and as we become aware of their growth and change, we realize the connection between the two ''edges'' or even better the two ''poles'' of ourselves. Ancient cultures, spiritual traditions and alternative medicine schools believed that humans, just like earth, have two poles. These were the areas on the top of the head, which it's expanding to the whole brain (North) and the perineum which it's expanding to our sexual organs and the area around them (South). In modern science and more specifically in neuroscience the discoveries and the exploration of our brain's function and its hormonal releases show the connection between them and our sexual and psychological behavior. The Red Version symbolizes the more heartfelt and instinctive spontaneity of ourselves when the Purple Version represents a more esoteric exploration.
