(to be continued) *1) A red dwarf is a relatively small cold star with much smaller mass and extreme low luminosity compared our own yellow Sun. *2) Flares from our own Sun is made of both particles and strong electromagnetic radiation which causes Auroras in polar areas on Earth - and some times even more serious flares can stop communications or in worst case closing power stations and alike. Red dwarfs can emit much more violently and destructive flare bursts than a star like the Sun. *3) Like the Moon always show the same side to the Earth ("locked" by closeness to our planet), many of the new found close orbiting planets around other stars are "locked" in the same way, too.
