Description

Today, February 9th 2018, I had Ralph put to sleep. I had a long discussion with my vet who knows me and my pack well, and I decided to do it whilst he wasn't suffering. His quality of life was lessening rapidly and he slept most of the time. He was deaf, confused and had poor sight, although he was still eating, and wanting to go for short walks, but once out there he wished sometimes he hadn't gone ! Don't feel sorry for me, I know I made the right decision. I am not sad but relieved that he will not die in pain when I'm not there.

Awww. Another member of Rendo gone good bye. I believe you made a proper decision by letting him go. You've had a long time together with joy and happiness. I understand you have a few others in the family. Nice photo of Ralphie at rest. :-)

I am so very sorry to hear this...Losing a furry companion is always very difficult, painful, but you gave him a really good life and in the end you did the right thing.

I'm with Mike and Nancy and Goldie, I've known pet owners who've had the conversation you had, with their vets, and they had to make the same decision. Thanks for sharing Ralphie with us for so long, it's been a treasure for all of us, and I'm very grateful to have known him through your loving eyes. My gratitude for sharing him with us for so long. Many blessings to both of you.

I commented on your facebook post. At least he went peacefully and without pain. I wonder if the girls notice anything different?

Pets are so cherished. They become such a big part of our family. I am glad you were able to have a long time to enjoy his company and that you feel good about the decision you made for his end life care.

Oh dear. I knew this was coming, but it's never an easy choice. When we first met, you had Sadie, Hettie and Buster, as I recall. Life, and the round of dogs, goes on. I feel a bit sad for myself because I do get attached to your pack, but that's what happens with we make friends with short-life-span creatures, even from a distance. I'm glad Ralphie won't be in pain. It sounds like you made a good decision on the timing.

Thanks for sharing Ralphie with all your friends for many years here Andrea.

Saying goodbye isn't easy, but knowing you did what was best for him makes it easier.

He looks so comfy, cozy and warm here, thanks for letting us say our farewells as well.

OH Dear. I feel I have been away for ages and I didnt even know about Ralphie. Yes in his conditions, you did the right thing, also because he had almost no life left and you have other dogs to take care of. But the fact that he had a perfect life with you, is the comfort you will always have. Thank you for all the wonderful photos and stories you have shared with us about him. He was a beautiful and happy dog with you.
