Description

Because of your interest, here one of my other shots from those dwellings. For those who would like to see the inside, I place a few pictures below, these are not made by me. There are many caves in the area, long ago we visited several of them. The corridors are endless, to get lost, so it must always be led by a guide. In World War I they were used as a shelter, and several murals were made. There is even a church, in which a religion is still held at Christmas. Thank you very much for your visit.

Thanks for posting! I see the ceiling of the first 2 is full of soot. Must have been difficulty breathing in that. The rooms seem fully inhabitable, though underground could be a bit claustrophobic. Very good lighting - did you use flash? Interesting your comment about getting lost and the need for a guide. And you say that some of these are still inhabited. Amazing! Keep up the good work. :-)

I have been in some of those caves and they are very fascinating and interesting. They have been used to hide during wars for centuries. And yes it would be very easy to get lost without a guide. Next time I go over your way I must look for these houses though. I did not see those.

Fascinating photo of the exterior of these cave homes. And thanks for including the interior photos from wherever you found them. The interior certainly isn't Bag End, but they're definitely livable. It would certainly be sleeping outside in the cold.

Magnificent exterior and interior photos.

It is very difficult to believe this existed.

Imaginge how hard these were to bulid, put furniture in and make it home under such horrible conditions.

Thanks for sharing.
