One of the android assembly team was assigned to show the programmer to his quarters. All the androids tagged along almost fighting over who got to carry the programmers luggage. Soon, they reached his quarters. Everyone went inside. The two 'lucky' androids with luggage placed them on the bed. Then they all gravitated to where the programmer was standing. He looked them all over and smiled admiringly. The assembly technician spoke. 'I can certainly see a family resemblance going on here.' he said to the programmer.' At this, all the androids smiled and gazed at the programmer. 'I love your hair!' said one of the androids. 'It pleases me to touch it and feel the soft texture as it flows through my fingers. Is this an affectation that we might be permitted to integrate into our daily appearances?' 'Well,' said the programmer. 'I am not sure what plans the CEO has for you fine looking gentlemen. If I am correct in my assumptions, I doubt that he has even thought about asking you what it is you want to do with your existances.' 'Oh, I don't really think we want to go there yet!' exclaimed the assembly tech. 'The CEO is very adamant about saving this company and android production figures very prominently in the success or failure of the company.' 'Well, I think it will need to be addressed and the sooner the better. From what I see of these four characters, and they are fine characters, I don't think they will settle for just being someone's property!' At this, the assembly tech looked troubled. He had been having the same thoughts but had not yet allowed himself to voice them. One of the androids spoke. 'Father programmer. May we address you as such?' 'Well, I'm not sure the CEO would approve. I don't mind but I don't want the CEO to get upset with me before I have had a chance to see just what it is that makes you guys so very special. Lets just leave my name at chief programmer for now.' 'Very well.' all the androids said at once with agreement registering on their faces. The android persisted. 'Chief programmer. There are certain elements in our thought matrixes that we still don't understand. We are hoping that now you are here, you might be able to explain them to us.' 'I will do my best.' replied the chief programmer. 'And if there are areas I can't figure out, perhaps this alien everyone has spoken about will be able to help. What are you thoughts on that?' 'I am not sure I trust that alien.' said one of the other androids. When I held the hand of the alien 'spy', I got some coded messages that indicated to me that the spy was actually afraid of the alien. I don't know what to make of that. What is fear, chief programmer? I have read the definitions but still don't understand it.' 'Oh, so many questions and so few answers for now. If you will give me some time, I will attempt to answer all your questions. Lets just adjourn for now. I must meet this alien shortly in the android assembly section. If you will permit me to freshen up, I will meet you all there in half an hour.' 'Very good sir.' said the assembly tech as the androids all nodded their heads in assent. 'We will see you then.'
