Description

A hunter on the prowl for fish comes up for air, breaking the surface quietly so as not to disturb the prey... Rendered in Bryce 7 Pro(ne to crashes). Stars added in PhotoShop CS2 because Bryce isn't very good at stars. Originally created in 2007 as the copyright message shows, this was rendered at higher resolution when I realised it wasn't in my Renderosity gallery. Rendered at 4800x2700 for printing and sized down for upload. The wave the plesiosaur is causing is a terrain carefully shaped in the terrain editor, a useful trick I learned from a web site somewhere many years ago. Long gone and mostly forgotten, I am still thankful to whoever it was who put that tutorial online.

I almost always add stars in postwork (the rare times I need to) because most of what I have available looks less than wow. Rendering at 4800x2700: that must have taken a while!

Thanks, it was fun to create. Rendering was a little under four hours plus but it was rendering while I slept. If I set a big render up I always set it up to render just before going to bed so it doesn't interrupt my time in front of the computer.

Thanks everyone, it is nice to be back! My computer died a while ago and I had to settle for a slower one, I hope to get parts to repair the older but faster machine soon. I will try to get some time commenting on stuff here soon, life is madly busy at the moment. Part of the time I am transferring over 1.5Million files to the new machine. You never know how many files you have till you have to move them to a new machine...
