the other version was more muted, while this one has more presence; and of course, the building is larger too, so we can see more detail. Strong contrast in the hues, just as these facades were often painted (by more modern owners). And a strong 'flat' light on the surfaces too, which gives this strong flush-forward presence. The sea and clouds divide the image beautifully, into 3 or 4 layers. Very appealing, very present, and with fine and immediate light, Richard.
