welcome aboard! The best input I can give you is to just have fun with any & all of your creations, that's all that matters in the end :)

Not a bad first effort at all. One thing I'd suggest that will help with the rough edges is to set Anti-alias. Click the Render menu, then click Render Options. Check the box next to Antia-alias and then click the OK button. That will smooth out your render, make it look better so you can start concentration on things like lighting. Best of luck.

My best advice to you is this, constantly surf these galleries and check out the awsome artwork posted on this site.A couple of things will come from this, you will get endless ideas and inspiration,"AND" you will also notice many different styles of each artist.Try to develope your own style and don't be intimidated by "bad" comments.Do what you like, and don't rate yorself by the amount or quality of the comments given here. Do this and you will enjoy many long hours perfecting this craft you have chosen for yourself.

Hey Spanky ! She's no Mona Lisa but we all have to start somewhere. My first 20 renders or so were pretty simple and it took me a while to get the hang of things. Play with the dials, lighting, different poses and stuff, as above mainly have fun. Renderosity is a good place for you to start, look at what others do,you'll get good feedback, play with the free stuff, keep posting and you'll learn alot. Good luck and look forward to more post form you.

Well, I think for a first time, your hair is pretty good. The lines of growth are fairly true, hairline starts high enough. Now, go crazy on highlights and shadows, it's what really makes painted hair look great. If you have a paint program with layers do the highlights and shadows on a separate layer and shadows on a separate layer so it's not such a pain to erase. Plan on it taking so darn long, you're sick of it before it's done.:) Pick someone in the gallery you like and see what you can do like him or her-- then pick some else. You'll find your own style emerging as you lean for awhile on others. And never be afraid to ask questions, here or in the galleries. Good luck
