Description

Alone, the great chief Anarchron, leader of the fallen race known as the Chekinkata stands upon the rock of ages. Staring resolutely into the sky, sceptre in hand, he plees to the gods to deliver his people from danger. The gods aloof, never take notice. They fly past uncaring of the affairs of mortal Chekin. The great leader knows that soon a expedition must be formed. The ancient cache of knowledge must be found and reopened, before all hope is lost. With this cache, they may be able to contact the gods directly, a plee for help for their dying race. Hard times are upon this world. Orbiting a rogue star, their sun is slowing passing a dangerous and turbulent stellar nursery. Each year their thin atmosphere, 1/3 as dense as the top of mount everest, becomes more and more turbulent. This small planet, little more then a moon sits in a shallow gravity well 1/4 that of earth. Even now, on a calm day, 20 foot waves slowing fall against the shore. Each year, the storms grow worse, within another generation or so all will be lost. Unfortunately their race, once magnificent and technologically advanced, have fallen to near pre-industrial levels. Where once there was a interstellar community, now a few scattered towns are are all that is left. Meanwhile the gods, actually millions of uploaded Chekin personalities live in the huge floating crystal ships. They have long since turnt inwards. Millenia have past since theyve made contact with the surface. Inward they look, uncaring of the danger approaching, living in elaborate cyber fantasy worlds, oblivious to the doom that soon will befall them all. ************ All modelled in Xfrog, brought into Bryce 5. Multiple renders were needed for the background. Starting with a 360 panarama with camera pointed to ground. Cut the middle sky out of a 4000x4000 render and brought it back in to add the visible light/suns. Rendered did some post work then brought the final in to be the background for the rest of the pic.

Interesting technique, good job in the Frog! I've never gotten it to do much for me, but you're great at it!

Well, I don't know about uploaded Chicken personalities, but I like this image ;) The bold colours especially, and the feathery aliens are pretty cool too.
