Trying to make my own skin textures that will come out looking well in Iray. Sometimes I get lucky. Most of the time I dont. But thank you for stopping by and for all your past comments.

Hi Cal - Skin textures with IRAY I imagine would be tricky. Even the most experienced seem to have trouble creating them. To me so many textures using IRAY settings look like plastic. But keep on trying. It's good practice. Do like your scene though. That gismo is quite something. Nice poses and good lighting.

Great image! I've been going into the surface tab and modifying things to see what results I get. I hate when clothes or skins reflect light and look shiny so for this I lower the glossiness which is often up around 90. I take it down to 65 or lower but too low seems to make the object lose contrast. I can fix that in Photoshop but I'd rather just get it right while rendering lol. I love sci-fi so keep doing it!
