Description
Moulin de Rairé, Vendée, France.
Built around 1555, the Moulin de Rairé originally belonged to the lord of the Garnache, Jacques DE LA TOUCHE. Spared during the Vendée wars, it became, in 1840, the property of the BARRETEAU family, which operated about twenty mills in the North-Vendée marshes. In 1933, the miller, Amélina, wife of Marcel BURGAUD, persists in keeping this tool, despite the evolution of techniques and the growing disinterest for these machines born in the Middle Ages.

Amélina is right. One day we may become dependent on these. Like, if the electricity should fail. The large vanes make this a powerful and efficient mill. :-)
