Description

Had to do some layering here. Got the light source in the main image, then Gimped a supernova over it then stopped to rethink what the hell I was gonna do next. (Don't you hate that when you have things all planned out in your head and then your head wanders off? Drives me nuts, I swear...) Finally remembered: the caster's right arm and hand had to be rendered as a separate image then placed over the light source and nova so it looked like the effect was in the palm of her hand. Then came the fun part. Noobs, take note: if you have a better way, use it, but for those seeking a solution, here's mine.I took a color sample off the light source and went to the layer where the arm was. I set my brush to a decent size and an opacity of 5. To select the arm, I went to "select by color" and clicked in the transparency section, then inverted the selection so that the entire arm, regardless of color or texture, would be selected. Then I went over the arm several times with the colored brush until it looked like the glow covered the arm as well as it covered everything else.
