the proof of insurance the teenager provided the police was bogus. I hope I can avoid paying a $500 deductible on my insurance. I can take several trips with that money

I think a threat of a lawsuit towards the parent(s) of that teen should take care of any issue there; that plus the fine for not having valid insurance... not to mention the possible jail time, etc, etc, etc... Just saying that's how I'd approach this..

Great view, and I guess this is the parents of this guy who should be worried about costs, isn't it ? Especially if he wasn't properly insured.

Yeah, I agree with Mike – I'd start putting a little pressure on Junior and his parents. In Missouri not having auto insurance is an automatic $200 fine – and trying to fool the police with a bogus proof of insurance would probably get you jail time.
