Description

I'm trying to make a Saturn-theme pic, by a cousin's request. This is just a concept, trying out some techniques, nothing is final at this stage, least of all the terrain layers, lol. I would really like some advice from all of you great guys on how to make this an excellent picture. So I'm pulling all the R'osity emergency levers, so to speak. Help out, please.

Saturn and the sky are great! I like them, but the land material or view you have it at just doesn't match. Maybe try a different pov and new land texture. Don't concentrate too much in your final pic. on the ground. Use the ground to accent the planet. Can't wait to see the final pic! :)

agree with Rooster - the saturn and the sky are great. The surface is NOT good, it is boring. Try to add some new layers and colours. A differnt pov and maybe some water transperancy would make the pic much more interesting.

keep in mind that saturn is a long ways from the sun, and its moons are most likely all covered in ice. you might try giving the water a frozen appearance and/or adding snow.

First of all, the pic would be greater is it was like on the (cropped) thumbnail. A screen-filling rising saturn is very impressing ;-) Second, I do not agree the sky is great.. The stars are too big and bright. 3rd of all ;) try to improve the surface color depth and use some transparent water if you've got the patience. So, that's my blabla :-)

Aye, MDB. I agree very much with your first comment. As soon as I saw the posted thumbnail, I thought "Wow, I'm doing that!" thanks for all the comments, guys. I'll work on it for a few days and keep you updated.
