Description
Anya was assembled by the famous russian mechanic and inventor Ivan Kulibin. At that time he was fascinated by creating of pneumatic automatons. As a basis he choose the French model and significantly modified, making it more elegant and stable. Kulibin used as the prototype daughter of the Catherine II.
He wanted to give a present of automaton to an inconsolable mother who lost her daughter. But when the work was finished, he changed his mind, because he was not sure of the reaction of the Empress to such a gift.
For a long time Anya lay in the larder, because Kulibin didn't want anyone to see a girl so similar to the princess in his house. After his death, Kulibin's son sold Anya to German businessman and fan of relics and intricate things, Heinrich Schliemann, when he's work in Russian Empire.
Then German sold Anya to owner of the library in Clermont-Ferrand, which is planned to open a museum in its building. And museum was opened only in 1903, now it's known as Bargoin Museum.
But Anya never appeared in the museum , because the daughter of owner take a fancy to automaton. So Anya follow her new owner whole life and was buried with owner in one grave, in accordance with her last willand testament. After a year Anya's owner were exhumed because of the suspicious circumstances of death, but Anya was not found in the grave...
