fractals are still a total 'space frontier' to me...I have no clue how you make them, I see the MB scripts and I haven't a clue what they mean, I see how you all share each other's scripts (or whatever it is that you share), commenters say they have to 'try' it, and so on....I just haven't a clue what it's about. But it can produce such unique and beautiful work. I assume you call this "west" because it looks like a setting sun? Maybe the term is more technical, or something ia-du-lin devised...I don't know. But you've made a sunrise/set that is beveled and etched, a bas relief of sorts, with a deep matte tan or amber (almost a rust hue, though it lacks the strong reds), and a carved sandstone feel, with a beautiful center of bright yellows and strata lines (in the 'stamin' area of the piece). I guess it could be a flower form too, but I thought of solar forms when I saw this, and still do. If this is a quick piece, you managed to pack a lot of detail into it, and it feels like a very visceral carving of a sunset, something one would find in early Native cultures, primal and strangely peaceful (for all those rays). A very pleasing and complex 'carving'...your fractals all seem very easeful and at home with this strange and remarkably miraculous medium...
