a terrific gift, Steve. I don't know where to begin about how well you did this. The woman (Lady Mary Killigrew, whose reputation was as big and bold as your portrait of her) stands like the owner of the world: You got a great posture here---forward, bold, and majestic. You clothe her in royal purple too, with that big sabre-knife as a horizontal accent. The hues of the ship are harmonious with her purples (via reddish-browns and pink-browns)...and such composition! With all the lines of the ship leading to the back, and the back being in perfect line with Mary. It's a big visual symphony, and filled with "I dare you". Terrific image Steve, and thank you for your words, I'm very touched. (And for your comment today as well---I'll be in touch again soon, but I'm sorry things are still so difficult.) Thank you so much for this...I even love the rips in her stockings. You know how to create a dramatic picture, that's for sure.
