"Whoa!", Lenny exclaimed as he turned to face the Lekkulion that was now camouflaged as a human female... ... ... a naked human female.

"If this is your idea of humor, Mr. Kearnan, I do not find it amusing," Luci growled.  "If my natural appearance did not draw attention," the woman continued, "my present form most assuredly would."

"Honest Luci, this wasn't what I had planned, though you have to admit it's a hell of a disguise," Lenny stammered, "I mean, nobody would even have the slightest idea of your true identity."  Noticing the woman was not satisfied with his response, Lenny told her, "I can fix it though, it'll just take a couple of minutes to recalibrate the emitters.  If you'll have a seat and hold out the bracelet, I'll get started."

"Very well, Mr Kearnan.  I will suppress my urge to twist your head off and allow you to rectify the situation",  Luci stated as she leaned against the work table and held out her arm toward Lenny, "you may begin."

With a nervous laugh, Lenny said to the unhappy Lekkulion, "thanks Luci.  Truthfully, it was a simple oversight.  I was so absorbed into having the emitters produce a foolproof disguise, I forgot to program them to also reproduce the clothing being worn."  For a few minutes, Lenny worked with the quantum scanner until the once naked humanized form of Luci began to have the clothing she was wearing appear upon the projected image.  With a sigh of relief, Lenny looked up into the human face and stated,  "I'm really sorry about what happened Luci, I really am.  Uhh, you wouldn't have really twisted my head off, would you?"

Placing her hand upon the young man's shoulder and with a slightly evil grin, Luci replied, "We'll never know, will we Mr. Kearnan.  I accept your explanation and apology."  Allowing a few moments to pass, Luci spoke again to the young man, "let us go find the captain and show her what you have made.  And Mr. Kearnan... ... ..."

Once again, Lenny nervously responded to the imposing woman, "yes, Luci?"

"When the captain brought you on board, I was concerned that your shipboard inexperience and immaturity would be detrimental to operations on this vessel.  However, your exceptional engineering skills, work ethic and adaptability to the situation at hand, have proven my initial assessment to be in error", Luci told the man, "I too, owe you an apology."

With a smile of relief, Lenny said with a smile, "thanks Luci.  Coming from you, that has got to be the nicest thing anybody has ever said to me.  Now, you'll want to keep the bracelet on as long as you can to get used to your new appearance.  And don't worry, the power source is a nano cobalridium ion reactor... it won't need refueling for around 500 years."

As the pair walked down the corridor toward the captain's quarters, Luci held her hand in front of her and spoke, "you are right about leaving the device on to get accustomed to my new appearance.  Hmm, five fingers... how alien." 

Later that evening...

"Computer, begin recording ship's log, December 11, 2366", I said as I stood by my desk in my quarters, "I was quite surprised when Lenny and an unknown woman entered my quarters earlier this morning.  The first thing to come to my mind was that we had another stowaway until the strange woman spoke.  I instantly recognizes Luci's voice.  Still in a state of confusion, the both of them explained what was going on. 

I've got to admit, I knew Lenny was a smart kid, but this literally blew me away.  The three of us went around to show the rest of the crew Luci's new appearance.  Though I could tell it somewhat was beginning to bother her, Luci wore the illusion all day.  But the real kicker was in the shower just awhile ago, Luci was still in her human appearance.  All I have to say is Lenny did one hell of a job designing her disguise, Luci's human form is friggin' gorgeous!  Perhaps I should have him make me one, haha.

Lenny said he going to make one for S'dira as soon as he could get more parts at our next port.  He also told me of the 'technical difficulty' they had experienced.  I almost broke into laughter when I heard it... I could imagine the look on Luci's face!  He assured me that he would take every precaution to make certain it wouldn't be repeated.  I've got to admit, bringing Lenny on board was one of the best decisions I ever made... ... ... I only hope he doesn't blow us up one day.
