Dee, I'm only back for a day or two once more, so I can only do a few comments in each gallery, once more. (And I haven't forgotten the dedi I never finished for you: I'll do it, I just can't do it at present.) So again, I'm faced with what to comment on, since all your images are worth the time. This image was right after your bday dedi to me, and I loved it, so here I go...
I've always said you have a theater and movie side to you, a performance side; and this is a perfect example. I love the stark white piano---esp as the light hits its top. And the gold letters of "Palmgren". (I know of a Finnish composer/pianist by that name, but that's the only place I've heard of it.)
The piano top, to contrast that thick white, is clear. A typical little touch which helps make your images what they are. I love the singer/player---she's something out of a 30s or 40s hollywood film, or a grand broadway musical. Or a very special club, where she's singing, probably Gershwin and Cole Porter. She's all grace and flow, and she looks to the sky as if to the heavens. These kinds of figures can be very stereotyped; and believe me, having been in clubs and theatrical events, I know the stereotypes. But when you do such characters, they always, always feel brand new, fresh, like they just dropped out of the sky in their purest form.
Your shadows on her piano stool are almost blue---another small touch that helps make this special. And the birds fit right into this fantasy, as she appears to be floating in the sky, with a vast skyline behind her. And you've textured the sky with billows of beautiful smoke, and what looks like champagne bubbles gone wild. And the hearts have brilliant white reflections, which fit right into the whole. And the overall sense is one of a splendid glowing dream, with a singer/pianist who seems dropped out of heaven...and it's beautiful. You know, I saw a comment of yours in Mike's gallery, that said you'd dealt with depression or something similar in your life. (A lot of us have.) Well I have to say: Whatever struggles you've come through, whatever darkness or pain has visited your life, my god your vision has such love and such light, it just lights us up, and lights up the world around you and leaves it all for us to bask in. I often feel 'miracle' in your works. This is just splendid.
