Raindroptheelf asked what lights I use for the image of "Man In Black". Well! To tell the truth I am still experimenting and learning the Studio lighting system. So to answer your question. Both images use a mix of many different elements. I had used Fabiana's dome and spots from her "Theory of Lights, I added some home made mesh lights for extra fills and effect, but I have the luminous flux turned down in order to keep the shadows. In both images it is all about the shadows, as I am sure you could guess. In a nutshell, I work like hell to get the effects I want to achieve for each image I create. I experiment and alter the lights I work with. But sometimes I use my bought set as is, right out of the box. MIB took me about a week and half and Plugged-In took two weeks. I am a perfectionist at heart, so I adjust, render and adjust, render to the point I am happy with the results. The bought sets I use (right now, will change in time) are: Fabiana's Theory of Lights, Dreamlight's Studio light Pro Iray and Dimesion Theory's HDR mesh lights, Studio HDRI and Light prob sets. But know: I do adjust them to suit my needs. But all of them are "top notch" excellent right out of the box. I also have started using Kinderedarts Ghost Lights sets, they are very cool to use and just as effective.
If you have more questions, anyone, just ask. Cheers!
