Description
I have just returned from another 20 day safari in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. This time I went camping entirely on my own. What an amazing experience it was. I took another 1600+ photos so I might be boring your socks off with African animals.
This is an arid park in the Kalahari desert but they had yet another good rainy season hence the lush vegetation! This is not a Big 5 park. The vegetation cannot support elephant, buffalo or rhino.
Someone commented on one of my previous posts about me having a concrete tripod! The fact is that it is self-drive game viewing so many times photos are shot handheld or at best the camera is resting on a beanbag on your car's window.

This photo is a typical scene in the Kgalagadi - red sand dunes which, once you felt the sand between your toes, you will inevitably fall in love. :)

Wow, Carin ! Is is really safe to go camping on your own in such a place? Show us as many photos as you like, I rely on folk like you to do my travelling for me.

"Big Sky Country". That's what they call it in the U.S. Just open space all the way to the horizon. This is a terrific image that invites the viewer to explore. What's over that hill? I'm looking forward to more of your adventure.

OMG, shades of New Mexico! Sure looks like that terrain. In any event, this is a neato capture, and congratulations on your photo-taking safari. I suspect you tookl tonnes of pics of meerkats and lionesses.
