Description
This is the remains of the Broad Arrow Cafe, the site where 35 people were killed and 23 were wounded in 1996. It occurred mainly at the historic Port Arthur former prison colony, a popular tourist site in south-eastern Tasmania, Australia. It was the deadliest mass shooting in Australian history and one of the most notable. Martin Bryant, a 28-year-old from New Town, a suburb of Hobart, pleaded guilty to having carried out the shootings and was given 35 life sentences without possibility of parole.
The site is, in part, now a shrine to the innocent victims.

If you need to orientate yourself, just keep one eye on the fire place....

Now that's a proper sentence. We are too prissy about 'life' sentences here.

terrible tragedy. the needless/senseless violence is world wide. reminds me of a man that entered a cafeteria and started shooting. I do not recall how many perished, but one was too many

Life sentence, HELL he should have had a bullet put through the back of his head! There is NO excuse for what he did.
