Description
When it comes to drawing in a realistic or semi-realistic style, the most important thing, I think, is getting the skin right. It's something I have been trying to achieve for a few years now. We are wired to pay more attention to the human elements. If I can make a drawing with realistic-looking skin the rest I can do more slopy and people will like it.
Most of you do 3D, so you are aware of the challenge of getting materials right, and skin happens to be one of the most peculiar materials in nature. It's not completely opaque, and oil or sweat give it a bit of specular reflections. So you have to pay attention to all that.
Anyway, all that so say that on this drawing I feel I got a good effect on the skin. It's not perfect, I'm still experimenting on that, but it's good enough.
What do you think?

She is definitely hot. Skin looks nice. I too have spent over a year trying to perfect the skin texture of my character Miho. It has been a long struggle. But though overall I like how she renders now in indoor / outdoor lighting. There are still situations where things don't look proper and the other effect of all the experimentation has been that skin material has gotten very complex. So the quest continuous.

Thanks. This is all painted in 2D, so I don't have the luxury of reusing a perfect skin. But the methods I can reuse. And I believe in learning from different sources. So sometimes I think how to adapt what is done in 3D to 2D drawings.
