Description
The famous Marine Corps Cobra M4A2 Sherman
COBRA, was lost in the water on D+1 at Tarawa when the Tank Commander, 1st Lt Richard Sloat, was ordered to reduce enemy strongpoints located at the junction between Red Beach Two and Red Beach One.
Due to casualties lying on the beach, the tank had to approach "the Pocket" by driving in the water, parallel to the beach.
After engaging the enemy, the tank returned east, toward the main pier.
On her way back COBRA fell into an underwater shellhole that drowned her engine and shorted out the electrical system, and she was abandoned by her crew.*

Learning to use Gimp2 and was working on this image for some time, decided to get back in the "art" business :)

Great photo effect. I also like the way you integrate the tank into the beach sand, waves and water. Is the background a picture or a full Poser scene?

Well, I cheated and used Vue, :) I have always posted my poser model tanks in the poser forum. What I usually tell people when looking at forums, just fill in the genre military so you can see everyones work, not just poser. But anyway, I am working on getting renders only in poser. Poser 11 has made great strides in rendering. So, I had this scene made up in Vue quite some time ago, and finished it up. Thanks for the comment.
