Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Normally I don't care that much for stoneware but in this case... I love it

Love it! Having grown up in the 60s and 70s, stoneware holds a special place in my heart. There’s something about it that’s “just right.”

I always look forward to seeing your artwork. After seeing so many of the same thing its refreshing to see something creative and different.

When you posted this, I fell in love with it (as I do with all your stoneware, sculpture, etc). But I hadn't seen the flickr version. There, we see how tall this feels (I don't know the actual dimensions, but in photographs it appears tall). A glorious piece. I love the lines on the cup portion; or maybe I should say the fluting. They add to the vertical lines of the whole piece. And the colors and textures are wonderful. As is the deep rust red of the interior. Against those lighter blues, this is a terrific piece. Your sculpture, stoneware, etc, is, across the board, superior art. I could have a home filled with it, and I'd never tire of it. (I see your mask---the one you gave me---every day, many times a day: It sits right where I'm sitting right now, and I've never gotten the slightest bit tired of it. It speaks to me, and is alive.) Love this piece.
