A moving message
New year resolution 2023: I have been a member of this site for about 10 years, but now I feel it is time to move to a site with more traffic and interest.
I still will occasionally pass by, but any request or comment that needs answering may take a loooooong time.
Should you not have noticed during the last two years my main account now can be found here: https://www.deviantart.com/maruberlin
And yes, there is quite a good chance that there are renders of mine containing nudity on that site.

Very clear tutorial. Not all of them are! :)
The technique is basically a good one, and time-tested (I remember learning about a variation of it around 2005). You've applied it very well here. If you still have the original photoshop file, you might want to experiment with masking on each of the various layers you've created. That way you could emulate how many artists would have the finest detail only on the face of the portrait and perhaps the hands, or provide extra variety to when and where each of the different layers are the most visible within your frame. It can be very addictive once you start fiddling with fine tuning, so you have to be disciplined to know where to stop!
Thanks for sharing this. It made my day.

Thanks, I am still a beginner with PS, but most layers are (as the tut recommends) Smart Objects, which in the first place leave some room for later corrections. Glad you liked it!
