such 'flat' hues in many spots here: I can't explain the word, I just know what I mean. Hues that 'seem' flat, hues that are what they are with no hints of any other hue in them. Simple. Flat---hues one would see in highly simplified graphic work. But that's not to say they aren't expressive---because they're exquisite. Some of the greens, some of the blues, some of the yellows---even that dull gray on the two sides---are all quite beautiful. And then mixes of blues with greens, reds with grays, etc, each one rich and expressive. This has more oil or watercolor blend feeling in it than I've normally seen in your bryce work; like we're viewing your palette mid-painting. And the big 'thing' here is a structure---or beast---that's expanding rapidly into the periphery, with mirror like surfaces, oil-like mixes, striated textured-glass sections, all surrounded by the flattest seemingly most expressionless gray in the world; and yet that gray is just perfect. A beautiful work; and there seems to be no color families you're not at home with.
