Black and white images are not as popular in my experience but they are much more relaxing to do. It's really no mystery, when doing colours you have to 3 parameters, you have to take into account if the combination is pleasing, work the colour of the light, how it chan ges the colour of the object... I have gotten better at all that, but still, the mental effort is much bigger than in black and white where you choose the values, work with the light and that is it. Which is why on my commissions I charge a lot less for black and white (it helps that they are faster to do ;) ). On this drawing I did a very simple shading, the one I do now it's much more complex, and gives better results, I will show it in the future.
