I've been doing art for a long time. I use to do my work using an airbrush and standard paint brushes, but now use only the computer. I have a MFA degree in painting, but make my living doing graphic design. The work that I do using the computer, looks almost the same as the work I use to do using an airbrush. I've now use AI images to start with and fix and modify them. Except for the ability to create an image a whole lot faster, all that has changed is the clean-up. "click".

This looks great! The bitmaps work pretty good for propagating the ecosystem?

Yes, the gray scale maps (tif, png or jpg) worked fairly well. You make a regular landscape, mix it with a gray bitmap (photo) at 100%, adjust the height, bring the bottom up so some of it disappears, You can use more than one landscape and layer them. I used the gray scale map as the texture (it matched perfectly). Then, either place buildings to add detail or you can make a basic grayscale map (plain gray squares) and make it an environment using buildings instead of plants. Put this layer on the bottom. You have to experiment, but this are the basics. A good free program to make the grayscales is "Fuse". It's amazing and simple to use. Have fun. - Bob
