Description
Thank-you for viewing and this is a true story that is happening to me now, I want to share my experience with you in the hope that it might help you in the future if you have a similar experience.
For the past 10 years I have been suffering from chest pains, It first started as a Flu virrus or at least that is what I thought at the time and for the next couple of years I seemed to get a bad flu 3 or 4 times each year, Then in the following years it seemed that I would just recover from one flu virrus and I would be sick with another and it steadily got worse over time, I had seen many doctors and some of things they thought were the problem were I had some bad teeth and they might have been causing a infection to start in my mouth and spread throughout my body, Possible?, It did make some sense at the time so I had 9 teeth removed, But the chest pain did not go away, Another doctor thought it might be anxiety and I started taking tablets, But that was not the problem either, Some people can get bad hay-fever and it can be like a flu virrus so I started being treated for that, But again no and I still had the chest pain.
Around Christmas time last year it got really bad and then I started getting really bad pain in my face and headaches and I would sweat a lot just walking outside on 30 degree days and be very short of breath, Just before Easter I could no longer take the pain and I knew I had to travel to the big smoke to see a new doctor, It was very hard to get a appointment because they were so busy and not taking new patients, It was 2 and a half weeks later when I finally got a appointment to see a doctor.
When I saw the new doctor I told him my story and he said "Even though I have just met you I have to take what you are telling me seriously" and wrote me a letter and sent me straight to the emergency center at the big hospital, They too took me seriously and I was admitted straight away, I spoke to a doctor there within a few minutes and they hooked me up to a few machines to monitor my heart and blood pressure and took some blood from me to do some tests, I told them that I had been dealing with the chest pain for 10 years, But when the pain spread into my face I could no longer live with the pain, I need to find out now what might be wrong.
I had a x-ray also and from all the tests they had done they were happy I was not having a heart attack and I was moved from emergency around to short stay patient area, I saw another 2 doctors there and they wanted to do some more blood tests after talking to me about my past history, All results can back clean and the doctor told me my x-ray showed my heart was a good shape and seemed to be okay and he would write a letter for me to see a heart specialist and have a stress test.
A couple of days later I had my stress test and impressed my heart specialist with my bike riding abilty while lying on my back in bed lol, But he was concerned about a back injury that I had from playing sport many years ago and it could be a possible cause for my chest pain, So I was lucky to get a CT scan the same day on my back and face.
Tuesday of this week I went and saw my new doctor to see the results of all my tests, I was confident that my heart was good and the problem was going to be the damaged disc in my back, My doctor agreed my heart was good and the CT scan did not show a problem with my back, But the x-ray did show one other little problem, My smile disappeared for a moment I was sure the pain I was feeling was from my back, But my doctor told me that one of my lungs was partially collapsed and that is something we need to monitor, Gulp! and Shock!.
So for now I have to keep taking 3 or 4 deep breaths every half a hour or so to inflate my lung and in a month I will get another chest x-ray to see if my lung stays inflated or not, Light exercise is also encouraged and sitting in front of the computer is discouraged.
My picture shows Kiiko with me in hospital but unfortunately Kiiko was not with me, I was only expecting to visit a new doctor in the morning, Not to be spending the day in emergency care, From 9:30 am till 3:30 pm so Kiiko went to work as usual.
Thank-you for reading my true story, I live outside of a small town of 495 people and to get medical treatment requires some travelling, It is a shame I wasted so much time and money on the other doctors in a medium sized town that is 20 minutes away by car, Now I travel 35 minutes to a large town and I am getting better treatment.
Your health is important and as you get older it becomes more important, I want Kiiko to continue our story about the Great wall un-told, But Kiiko thinks it is best we both take the month break and concentrate on getting my health back on track, For now our story will be put on hold and I am hoping Kiiko will still up-load some more of her own artwork in the mean time, I know she wants to do more car and motorcycle pictures for you.
Thank-you and love to you all from Andrea and Kiiko.

Beautiful image! Speaking as some one who was stuck in a hospital for five months straight because of a scratch on my foot that got a staff-infection and nearly cost me my left leg and has left me with limited mobility, I strongly endorse you revelation here... take your health seriously! There is no such thing as a little medical issue!

Thank-you zaqxsw and that is why I decided to share my story here, Infections can be a tricky and nasty thing and should not be ignored, Best of health to you, love from AndreaC.
ps Just one quick thing about the doctors that I had been seeing for those 10 years, All the doctors in the office recently signed and sent a letter to my 92 year old landlord stating that they will no longer treat him, Even in emergency cases because he is too old.
