Description
(Another old image---sorry! Can't do a new one now, but this is about "stopping to smell the flowers" which is what I hope Steve will be doing soon!)
An update on Steve (eekdog):
His ruptured appendix was one of the worst they'd seen. That would explain his terrible pain, and why the operation---normally less than an hour---took so much longer.
He's in the hospital at least through tomorrow (Friday), but hopefully he'll be home soon after.
(Boy do I sympathize: Years back, I had a gall bladder operation just like Steve's appendectomy: Mine got on TV! You know what it's like recovering at home, and suddenly you see your operation on TV??? It made the news! Anyway, that's why Steve's operation took so long, and why Steve's still in pain. I hope his pain goes away soon.)
Get well soon Steve! Hopefully you'll be home soon, and able to smell the flowers. All our love and healing to you, and hopes that you heal completely and quickly! Great strength to you! mark

I do so love your fun little sketches, Mark! They just make me smile - every time!
A great dedication to Steve! Sooo glad he got himself to the ER... From what he told me, it was about 2 hours... Wow.. My thoughts and prayers are with him all the way. He's one of the most supportive and kind folks here as well as an awesomely talented artist. I do hope things turn around for him now - he certainly deserves it with all he's been through.

what a fun little image for Steve. It's simple but it says so much about life and the happy things in it. sunshine and flowers make everything better, I hope it makes Steve feel better, too.

Such a delightful cartoon, and just the ticket for someone recovering from an operation. I love the little dog ... apparently a cross between a poodle and a dachshund. :P
Best wishes, Steve! I hope you feel better soon.

A wonderful dedication to our sick friend. I hope you are feeling better soon, Steve.
As for you sir, now when someone says, "You've got some gall." You can honestly reply, "Not any more." Which reminds me very little of a story that made the rounds many years ago. Apparently the French had planned on seizing Gibraltar from the British and renaming it de Gaulle Stone.

Love your little dash hound, Mark. As bakapo said, it says so much. About the wonder of mother nature and happiness and peace. My very best wishes for Steve to be well very soon and no more pains.
(Had such an operation of my appendix with 1½ month of complications, due it got infected in the hospital all down to the botton of the hole, so I know how it feels too. Thank you for your letter. Will reply on it soon. :)

Such a cute little dog smelling the flowers. So well done.
Thank you for this update on Steve , let's hope all goes well for him now and no hiccups. I am thinking of him as I have had a number of ops so know what he is going through. That would have been pretty spooky seeing your gallstone operation on television when you weren't expecting it. 😀

Another amusing dog sketch performed in your own inimitable style. Glad that Steve is better and on his way to recovery. I mention again my appendectomy, performed multiple decades ago when I was ten years old, and way before there was such a thing as antibiotics. Fortunately, even though it had crud and stuff all over the vestige, it was removed without any serious complications. And, way back then, anyone with a ruptured appendix had an early burial.

I had a gall bladder operation many years ago and because of microscopy surgery, I had a fast recovery. very good that he was able to go to the emergency. very cute and humorous drawing

Such a cute doggie. Reminds me of my beloved wieners. Wow, your gall bladder op got on TV. So did you get a free operation? My sympathies to Steve. And I'm glad he is recovering. I had my appendix out when I was 12. Ouch! I was supposed to go on a fun trip to Catalina and went to the hospital instead. Not a happy memory and I've never been back to the hospital since (except once to have my daughter)
