yeah, with rod, this probably wasn't cheap when new. It has Italian style---that long toe, with the long stitching on both sides; and an Italian name (though who knows: maybe it was made in New Jersey). It's amazing to see what was once at least an Italian knockoff, all sullied with soil and water stains, and the sole half out (with a URL on it! That's modern shoemaking!). And those laces all wheezed out...Your surrounding couldn't be more fitting: Gray and pebbly, to match the grayed out black of the shoe. Really, a splendid shot: simple, composed perfectly, and it captures everything about "abandoned shoes". I'm telling you, this series would make a book with great impact. We'd see shoes in a whole different light. It's a great series...
