So many thanks from multiple friends on concerns. Well wishes and prayers ony operation last Wednesday. Still recovering and going rather slow so far.
My so called friend I've known since high school who evicted me coming up later this year did not even bother to come downstairs were I live after I got home to see how I was doing.

an amazing image, Steve! And so descriptive of what you've been through. Not only with job hunting (and with your last boss too!), but with your roommate/high school friend...amazingly true image. Esp with that beautiful scene out the window. I mean, the outside is beautiful, but the people who can make a difference have closed the door. I'm terribly sorry you have to go through this.
I hope it gets better now. And, given how sick you were last week, it's understandable you'd need time to recover. Take care of yourself, and know you're loved here!
