Okay, gonna say up front that I like Mr. Trudeau. I think he walked into a job that was left far more difficult than anyone anticipated — simply because no one knew until an official audit just how bad off the country was financially — and he's done a pretty decent job of getting Canada back on track. Yes, he's spent a lot more funds than anticipated, but let's face it: when you're making up for almost a decade of financial bullhockey, you're gonna have to drop some serious coin to make it happen. He's had to make some tough decisions, and he's made them pretty well.
Take, for example, the TransMountain Pipeline, which is what started this story off, actually. It connects Alberta and BC and is designed to get oil from Alberta to the coast. BC doesnt like the idea that it might spill, which is a reasonable concern. Alberta, of course, wants it because of the oil money it would bring in. My own feeling is that it's crap oil that never should have left the ground in the first place, but no one asked me, so it looks like it's getting built. But here's the thing: Trudeau is no fan of pipelines, but he understands their necessity in Canada's current economy. He had four pipeline proposals on his desk. He stated at the beginning of all this that he was only approving one, and TransMountain seemed to be the one with the least environmental impact, so it got the nod. The other three plans are out there on the web if you want to see them, and yes, he made the right choice. The others would have gone through old=growth forest or all the way East, and they just were not feasible. Period. So he went with the best of a bad lot, and maybe we should run with that for the moment.
Oh, and for those who dont get the Doug Ford reference... dont worry about it. Some things in this strip are too Canadian to properly explain. LOL
OK, probably a bit of buffer before we gear up for the next storyline, another "ripped from the headlines" kind of thing that'll put Connor in the spotlight for a bit. Enjoy!

I think those boys not only don't know that they were left behind, but don't care.
