Captured way back in 2006 at the beautiful South Coast Botanic Garden in Rolling Hills Estates, Palos Verdes Peninsula, California.

wow, it's not often helle doesn't know a flower! (I, on the other hand, rarely know a flower!) (Of course, you titled it "Dahlia," so Helle must've had a "camelia" on her mind...)
In any case, you caught the real nature of this fluted, almost bell-like flower, with all those little bells or horns coming right out at us. With this Dahlia series, I'm getting a feel for how varied dahlias are---I had no idea until I started viewing this series. A very visceral and powerful shot.
