Description
This is my very first test of Deacon215's dForce Yukata for G8M. Please note that I'm happy with this purchase. What may seem to be criticism is just me pointing out that this product (like most vendors' products) needs adjustment to get it to look its best.
First off, the textures look fine in the default pose, but the yukata NEEDS dForce when conformed and posed, as the textures stretch badly. With dForce applied it all looks great.
In the pose I applied here, there is minor pokethrough at the elbows, which is no surprise, as the arms are bent more than in most poses, and only a little adjustment was needed to fix it.
Again, I am happy with this product overall, just be aware that It needs dForce to look its best.
Oh, and what looks like pokethrough at the waist is actually the yukata material draping over the obi, as it should.

This is very beautiful!

It is, and the G8F version is even better. I have a WIP using G3 characters and these two yukata (2 male, 2 female characters) and the dForce is working well enough, though I'll need to do minor postwork on those sleeves, but the scene will take quite a while to set up - if it works out, as it may be too much for my system. Sometimes I get too ambitious with my renders! 🙄

Thanks for the review. I'll second your comment, these outfits are dForce ONLY they won't conform properly without it. I do add a generic 'expand all' option to help instances of minor poke through on sharp joint bends, but that's not a guaranteed fix it. You can also get a bit more latitude from the simulation settings (adding more subframes, iterations/subframe, more stabilzation time) but that increases the simulation times and isn't a guaranteed fix either.
Thanks again, appreciate the feedback and I'm glad you're happy with the product.

The poke through is pretty common in all clothing items in my opinion. Like frankrblow mentioned, the extreme bends can do this. Either expanding can obviously help or I apply a dformer to that area. And if at all possible, I hide body parts hidden under clothing...only after simulating is complete though. ;-)
I'm a huge fan of Deacons. His quality and skill are amazing. I'm so glad dForce came out. I've found a lot of his older conforming-only products work great converted to dForce dynamics.
Thanks for the review, Frankrblow. I'm hoping to get this outfit today or tomorrow.

You're welcome, Tykey. This yukata (and the female version) are long overdue products, well priced and essential items for any Japanese themed render.
