Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

OH!! I know Tara loves reflections, so this is just perfect for her Birthday. :-)

Right up Tara's alley! Useless items but boy are they fun to look through. Always get the side benefit of looking around the surrounding town too.

There is so much to see here, and it's the sort of thing I so enjoy, that I must have stared at it for half an hour! I came across this earlier today and looked at it on my small phone screen for a while, and then came here and opened it on the computer and looked some more. I love the reflections, of course. Not only in the window, but in the picture frames! The sign board alone (ask about those botanicals and fresh garnishes) kept me entertained and interested for quite a while. I even opened the picture in Photoshop and flipped it so I could read the sign. The light fixtures are great, and the one with the dangling circles makes me want a big two-story entryway in our caravan just so I can hang it and be amazed every day! LOL! The circles go so nicely with the window arches across the street, too.
Thank you for this! I love every bit of it.

Great reflections and a wonderful dedication for Tara. I love this window display especially the photo of Freddy Mercury holding the crown and the one just below it that looks very much like something by Helmut Newton.

well you definitely made a hit with tara! She got into it so much she put it in PS, just to read a sign. This is perfect for tara's 'reflection' series. (After seeing this and a few other dedis for T, I realize my dedi didn't do anything in tara-style at all, and now I wish I had.) Terrific mish-mosh of tons of things all packed together, and then mixed with reflections from the outside,. And those lamps and rings (bracelets, necklaces?) are like orbs coming through the sky. You brought out a ton of stuff here, and it's perfect for T. Great work on this, Andrea; and the "MR AND MRS" sign is perfect---whether intended or no---for her and bill. (You even have Chanel No 5, some whacked out lamp bases, a chandelier (!!!), and a heavy lowering sky (("and all the clouds that lour'd upon our house...")) ). Great dedi. Happy 60th, Tara! (I hope she doesn't mind my constantly saying it's her 60th: I assume she doesn't!)
