My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!

Congratulations on your milestone (the bird). I have enough trouble capturing a pigeon sitting on a wall. And a very happy birthday to you. Sounds like you had a great time.

Happy Birthday. I love this hummingbird photo. You did a fantastic job. I am glad to read of your great time on San Juan. Someday if I get a camera again I will post too. In the meanwhile I just peek in now and again.

You made a typo, you meant 30 birthday, right? Happy Birthday.

A great capture of this little hummer, Tara! You've got me beat - I've never got a photo of one, and that's one of the top 3 on my photo bucket list, along with a lightning strike, and a space rocket liftoff.
Sounds like you and Bill had a perfect day for your birthday, my friend! 60 years young! 👍

He looks mighty good to me. I'm of course in the same boat as Rod...no Hummingbird for me:)

(picking up where I left off...) Boy, so much to say here. First, this is a shimmering atmospheric beautiful picture. Back to that in a sec...all this talk of the difficulty of getting hummingbirds, and putting them on one's "bucket list" and so on. (Lol Mark: Can't even get a pigeon on a wall.) Well, I've had lunch with hummingbirds, taken shots of their wives and families, and some of their inlaws. I've played chess with them, and gone out for birdseed with them. (This isn't a funny bit, so I'll abandon it. It had good 'wings' before I began it, but now I see it's going noplace...) Congratulations on capturing this elusive and difficult bird. And the composition puts all those diagonals to our left---a big 'curtain' of beautifully lit branches and flowers: beautiful composition! And great light and shimmer. And with all the experience bill had with bird shots, I'd think he'd be a whiz at hummingbirds. I guess they're really hard---you got some heavyweight photographers here (incl you) who say it's really hard. Shimmering shot, and I'm so glad you both went there for your birthday. Savannah and this place: real lush beauty since leaving texas...
