Description
JoJo was the lead singer in a rock band, at least until she lost most of her left leg in a motorcycle accident. Knowing she would face months of recovery and rehab, she gave up her spot with the band so they could get a replacement and fulfill the commitments already scheduled. Her guitar kept her sane during process of putting herself back together and she found musical depths she didn’t realize she possessed. Embracing her new life with an artificial leg, she embarked on a solo career singing the songs she had written. Her first album was about to be released and she was posing for the cover art. Ruins in the background, the wind rising, her new leg with the specially designed “heels foot” openly displayed, and an attitude that takes the World head on, the photographer snaps a winner.
When I saw the set of prosthetic limbs offered for free by MinaBlanche at ShareCG, I had to try them and this is what popped out. Wonderful prop.

Barb (bakapo), in her "beauty and the beast" series, finished with the beauty being the man, and the beast being the woman. So the man was the gentle one, standing behind his lover. Barb turned an old tradition around, in other words...and you've done that here. I love that you chose this woman---with her accident and her prosthetic---for your model; and that she's going out there not only doing it on her own, but making her prosthetic part of her beauty. It is striking and beautiful: Great job with this. And the blue of the upper part of the prosth. is great contrast to her black outfit (and shoes). More fine work with clothes; and a great 'this is who I am, take it or leave it" pose. The ruins look great behind her; and I like the guitar on the ground, resting against that crate...This would make a fine album cover, esp with your lighting on her. Love this image. Terrific work, Teri.
