(Which was more true until social media got hold of some of them.)
Two of my student lodgers went home for the summer and emptied their rooms . Thankfully not much left behind, but these strange objects and a hat. These are weights for balloons. I have no objection to tethered balloons but I think letting them go should be banned, as they end up choking turtles and causing long lasting litter

I totally agree, The first news item the other night was about plastics. The next item was about people letting go 100's of balloons for some such thing. The producers hadn't thought that one out!!!!!

Balloons can also endanger the random low flying airplane. This is a pretty item.

I'm full of 'Snips and snails, and puppy dogs tails' so I better just be quiet right now! Being serious for a moment, countless Aussie turtles are killed by party balloons every year. You are SO right Andrea.

I think all balloons should be restricted to indoor use only and then made of rapid decomposing material
