It's not terribly surprising, but it's pretty humbling to realize you're looking at millions of years worth of sea-bed layers of sediment in that bluff. The utility pole gives it a real sense of scale.

I too didn't notice the electrical pole right away---it's great that you included it, for scale; and because it adds another 'presence' to this massive sight. You caught the massiveness, lock, stock and barrel; along with its porous qualities, and the fuzzy 'fleece' feel of the trees and grasses. A formidable shot, Richard, yet very inviting. Terrific capture of the in-your-face feeling of these big rock facades...always a pleasure to come here...you're such a natural at this, and you're one of our best.
