Description

This small light house is on the west coast of San Juan Island, Washington State, on the Haro Strait. When I took this photo I was facing north...all the islands seen on the horizon are in Canada. The light house is in a 36 acre Washington State Park which is considered one of the best places in the world to view wild orcas from a land-based facility. Unfortunately for us...there were no whales to be seen while we were there.

Ditto the above, and I'm with tara 100% on that "bmac blue": You do have a signature way with blues and skies and such. This is a bill shot through and through; clarity and poetry together, beautiful composition, the jutting land is gorgeous cutting into that largely calm water. The background is hazy and beautiful (so that's canada! one of my old uncles would say, "they need some lights and billboards back there!") and the lighthouse is so white and clear, with terrific shadows. Perfection, sir. A gorgeous photo, and a bill shot through and through.
